Supersonic 100 Mbs broadband comes to Beacon Business Park

At Beacon Business Park, our commercial developments have created a need for high quality internet connectivity and we made this our priority. Since August 2016, tenants of the business park have been benefitting from broadband speeds of up to 100 Mb/s.

We selected Internet Central as provider to the site and have been working in partnership with them to bring the fastest possible internet service to the business park. Businesses on the park now benefit from average internet speeds of between 80 to 100 Mb/s download and 20 Mb/s upload through fibre connections, making it easy to connect with traders across the globe and run commercial activities and systems online.

For many years, Staffordshire has been lagging behind the rest of the UK in terms of its broadband speeds due to its rural location. It has been an area with extremely poor internet capabilities with limited opportunity for higher speed internet connections including supersonic broadband.

To tackle this problem, Staffordshire-based internet provider, Internet Central, made a deal with BT in 2015 to gain access to a number of telephone exchanges. With control of internet speeds from these exchanges, and after an investment of £250,000, they now deliver superfast broadband to areas between Crewe and Stafford.
